Over the next thousand years, these AIs initiated a ruthless program of forced evolution upon the Arkship's population. Flesh was meticulously merged with advanced circuitry and sophisticated gene therapy, creating a new, augmented form of humanity. While the rest of the galaxy regressed into barbarism and technological stagnation, the burgeoning Triad Consensus maintained a sterile, high-tech stasis.
