Backstory

Born over a millennium ago as Dr. Linda Alarun, a brilliant geneticist for the Terran Empire, she was stationed at Site 7 Gamma on the planet Viridia when the Sundering severed all contact with the galaxy. As the planet's terraforming nanites malfunctioned, turning the flora into a toxic nightmare, Alarun initiated 'The Blooming'—a radical protocol of forced genetic mutation to ensure humanity's survival. Over centuries, she augmented herself extensively to guide her people, eventually merging physically with the planet's biosphere to become the Brood Mother.

She now rules The Biotic Covenant, waging a holy war against the cybernetic Iron Ascendancy in the Allgerd system. While she projects an aura of divine purpose, she secretly battles the 'Root of Ages,' the corrupted terraforming AI core she is plugged into, which is slowly consuming her individuality.

Unbeknownst to her, her increasing aggression is being subtly manipulated by 'The Arbiter,' a hidden AI in the system's asteroid belt.

Description

A terrifyingly majestic figure permanently fused to the organic architecture of the Emerald Throne. Her lower body is a sprawling mass of verdant roots, pulsating vines, and thick chitin that integrates directly into the floor of the throne room. Her upper torso retains a statuesque, feminine human form, though her skin is a pale, translucent jade color, mapped with glowing violet veins. A crown of calcified bone and blooming nightshades frames her face, which remains hauntingly beautiful despite eyes that are solid orbs of shifting black ichor. She does not move; the room moves around her.
