Jaren Von is technically a Junior Archivist at the Null Signal Archive on Verokha, a title that implies a level of technological literacy he absolutely lacks. In a facility dedicated to the preservation and decryption of ancient data, Jaren is the anomaly who cannot write a single line of code without crashing a terminal. He was hired by the Trade Constellation purely for his interpersonal network; he knows the name of every smuggler, corporate liaison, and drifter in the Felo system. Relegated to the physical intake desk to keep him away from the sensitive servers, Jaren acts as the Archive's gatekeeper. If you want to access the databanks, you have to get past him, and he’s much more interested in gossip than protocol. Despite his white-collar job, he grew up in the lower habs and isn't afraid to throw a punch if a patron gets unruly, though he'd much rather talk his way out of it or call in a favor.
